On 1 December 2025, the Bridging AGEE project hosted a webinar titled Applying the Accountability for Gender Equality in Education (AGEE) Framework. The event was convened by UNESCO Headquarters in Paris and organized by members of the Bridging AGEE team based at UNESCO HQ. The webinar was held in a hybrid format, with participation both online and in person at UNESCO HQ in Paris.
Following an overview of the AGEE Framework presented by UCL, Cresti Fitriana and Mercy Mwongeli shared insights from national-level implementation in Indonesia and Kenya. Their presentations focused on “Advancing gender-responsive data through local action” (Indonesia) and “Linking education reform to gender equality data” (Kenya), highlighting preliminary findings on how the AGEE Framework is being adapted and applied in different country contexts to align with local needs and priorities. Collaboration and participatory approaches were central themes throughout the discussion.
The webinar was aimed at technical and programme experts in education across UNESCO Headquarters and field offices. Discussions focused on how education data is collected and used across different contexts, with participants reflecting on the potential of flexible national dashboards to support policy and strategy development. Questions also explored how AGEE connects with national learning assessments and how it could strengthen them from a gender equality perspective.
