Kenya: series of AGEE workshops at subnational level

In Kenya, a total of eight subnational workshops were conducted across four research sites: Wajir East Sub-County, Samburu Central Sub-County, Kilifi North Sub-County, and Turkana Central Sub-County between 6th October 2025 and 26th February 2026. Each site included two workshops: one with local administrative officials and one with school and community stakeholders (including teachers, parents, and local actors).

These workshops aimed at building the capacity of local administrative officials, educators, and community stakeholders to understand and apply the Accountability of Gender Equality for Education (AGEE) framework. The sessions introduced the framework and strengthened participants’ ability to identify, assess, and articulate data needs, availability, and gaps across its six dimensions, as well as to reflect on local concerns related to gender equality in education.

Participants contributed insights on existing data, missing information, and priority data needs at the neighbourhood level.
